Applications for the Seventh Edition 2026 of the Farouk Hosny Foundation Art Awards need to be submitted by registering and filling in the following data through the application form available on the Foundation’s website as follows:

Painting Award – 2026

Eligibility, guidelines, and requirements for the Seventh Edition of the Farouk Hosny Foundation Art Awards for 2026

Applications for the Seventh Edition 2026 of the Farouk Hosny Foundation for Culture & Arts Arts Awards are submitted through the competition registration page that can be accessed via the following link (http://apply.faroukhosnyfoundation.org).
 

Painting Award Competition – 2026

The award aims to provide artists with the opportunity to showcase their creativity by producing innovative works of art that convey human thought. Each artist is expected to demonstrate their own unique style in addressing humanitarian, historical, or conceptual themes.

  1. Applicants must be Egyptian nationals aged between 18–40 years as of December 31, 2025.
  2. Submitted artworks must be paintings in watercolors, oils, acrylics, or mixed media only. Each side of the artwork must measure no less than 80 cm and no more than 120 cm per side, including the frame.
  3. The participating artwork must be original and not copied, and must be of recent production, no later than 2023, and the participant must own all intellectual and creative rights, taking into account innovation, creativity and non-typicality.
  4. The applicant must participate with 2 artworks, and if the applicant becomes a finalist, only one artwork will be selected for display
  5. Images of the artwork uploaded in the application form shall be in JPG format, of high quality and resolution, clear and suitable for publication and printing. The photo size should not less than 5 MB and not more than 10 MB, provided that the longest side of the image is not less than 2000 pixels and the quality is not less than 300 dpi
  6. The applicant must submit a written summary expressing the participant’s artistic idea and concept, not exceeding 150 words.
  7. The submitted artwork must not be a graduation project and has not previously been displayed or participated in any local or international exhibitions or competitions or virtual exhibitions or received any other awards or presented to any judging committees.

Participation in the competition constitutes an acknowledgment by the participant to read, agree to, and abide by all Terms, Rules, and Conditions.
 

Sculpture Award Competition – 2026

The award encourages young artists to present ideas rooted in research and experimentation, pushing beyond convention to create unique and contemporary artistic visions.

  1. Applicants must be Egyptian nationals aged between 18–40 years as of December 31, 2025.
  2. The artwork should be an original sculpture of modern production, no later than 2023, provided that the participant possesses all intellectual and creative rights and takes into account innovation, creativity, and non-typicality. The artwork should not have won any other awards.
  3. The applicant has the right to participate with 2 works, and if the applicant becomes a finalist, only one artwork will be selected for display
  4. In the event of participation with a prototype of the participating artwork, it must be three-dimensional and executed with real materials
  5. The artwork must be balanced and coherent in structure with a description of the materials used and the dimensions of the work, stating the most important techniques that the applicant relied on to implement his/her work and their relationship to the idea of the submitted artwork
  6. Applicants must upload 3 images of different angles for each participating artwork, and any uploaded photo of the artwork, in the application form, should be in JPG format, of high quality and resolution, clear and suitable for publication and printing, provided that the photo size should not be less than 5 MB and not more than 10 MB, and that the longest side of the image is not less than 2000 pixels and the quality should not be less than 300 dpi
  7. Applicants must upload an optional short 360 short video showing the participating artwork from all angles, that is not longer than 30 seconds
  8. Works must not have been previously awarded in any local or international competitions.
Participation in the competition constitutes an acknowledgment by the participant to read, agree to, and abide by all Terms, Rules, and Conditions.
 

Art Critique Award Competition – 2026

The award aims to enrich the art criticism movement in the visual arts by encouraging young people to engage in art critique, and develop their ability to study and analyze the aesthetics of arts. This leads to the formation of a new generation of art critics who are capable of interpreting visual artworks and raise the artistic and aesthetic awareness among the audience.

  1. The applicant must be an Egyptian citizen, aged between 21 and 40 years by December 31, 2025.
  2. The study must be original and up-to-date, conducted by the participant in the field of visual art criticism, and must be in Arabic and supported by images of artworks, so that the number of words in the study is not less than 1500 words and does not exceed 3000 words, and the study must include a short introduction to the research idea in addition to a conclusion summarizing the results reached
  3. The scope of study is open in the visual arts, taking into account the elements of originality, innovation, broad vision, intellectual dimension, creativity, accuracy, the integrity of language, non-typicality, and the link between the global and local contexts. The researcher can address a critical topic in the local, national, or global context, or combine any of them
  4. The applicant must consider choosing an accurate and concise title for the study that reflects its content and objectives, with the necessity of documenting the sources, references and forms used
  5. The text file of the submitted critical study must be uploaded in Microsoft Word format, font size 14, in Simplified Arabic font, and images of the artworks accompanying the study topic must be attached in JPG format, and must be of high quality and resolution, clear and suitable for publication and printing, so that the size of the image is not less than 5 MB and not more than 10 MB, provided that the longest side of the image must not be less than 2000 pixels and the quality must not be less than 300 dpi
  6. Each applicant may submit only one study, which must not include any marks, signs, or indications of the participant’s identity.
  7. The study must not be generated using artificial intelligence, nor copied, quoted, or extracted from a master’s thesis or PhD dissertation. It must not violate intellectual property laws.
  8. The study must not have previously won any local or international award, nor be submitted to any other competition at the same time.
Participation in the competition constitutes an acknowledgment by the participant to read, agree to, and abide by all Terms, Rules, and Conditions.
 

Architecture Award Competition – 2026

  1. Applicants must be Egyptian nationals not older than 40 years as of January 1, 2026.
  2. The competition is open to architects who are members of the Syndicate of Engineering- Architecture Division. In the case of team applications, the team can include architecture students, provided that the representative of the group is a member of the Syndicate of Engineering –Architecture Division and that the team may include members from related specializations, providing that the team does not exceed 4 (four) members
  3. Participation in the competition should be for a project entitled: Narratives Along the Nile and in compliance with the Terms of Reference (TOR) and the competition terms, conditions, and rules
  4. The submitted projects must be original, not copied, and produced by the participant, and the participant must possess all intellectual and creative rights, and take into account in the submitted projects innovation, creativity, and non-typicality
  5. Each applicant as individual or team has the right to participate with one project only, provided that the submitted projects are free of the applicant’s name, personalization or any indication of his/her identity
  6. The project is presented on 4 Landscape A1 panels (84x 59.4 cm) combined into one PDF file with a high quality of not less than 300dpi, and an Arabic or English report, of not more than 2000 words on A4 size pages, should be attached, and must include a presentation and explanation of the design idea and studies conducted by the applicant, as explained in the organizational procedures on the Foundation’s website. If the project passes to the semi-final stage, the applicant will be asked to print it
  7. The participant has the right to submit a visual presentation (with voice over) to explain the submitted project with a duration of not more than 5 minutes, without showing the applicants’ identity
  8. The participant has the right to submit an animated presentation (optional) of the submitted project with a duration of not more than 120 seconds
  9. The participating architectural design must be modern and has not previously received any awards, whether in local or international competitions or any other awards, and has not been previously used for any commercial purposes

Photography Award Competition – 2026

The Photography Award competition aims to provide an opportunity for young artists, both amateurs and professionals, to create serious and original photographic works that go beyond the stereotypical. It presents unique creative visions that offer them new ways to express their ability for visual art. This comes from a belief that technical excellence and quality of production, despite being criteria for evaluation, are not the only goal. The competition also aspires to receive innovative, visually stunning, and thought-provoking photographic works.

  1. Applicants must be Egyptian citizens between 18 and 40 years old as of December 31, 2025.
  2. The competition is open to established and amateur photographers in all branches of photography, including direct or composite photographs, provided that the applicant possesses all intellectual and creative rights
  3. The photographs are of recent production, no later than 2024, and all components and elements of the photograph must be innovative, creative and non-stereotypical. The Judging Committee has the right to request has the right to request the technique and tools for producing the artwork from the participant to verify the origin of the photos
  4. Any uploaded artwork photo must be in JPG format, of high quality and resolution, clear, and suitable for publication and printing. The photo size should not be less than 5 MB and not more than 10 MB, provided that the longest side of the image is not less than 2000 pixels and the quality should not be less than 300 dpi
  5. The applicant has the right to participate with a maximum of 3 photographs. If the applicant becomes a finalist, the Judging Committee has the right to choose only one artwork from them for display
  6. The applicant must attach a link to the (RAW) file of the photograph participating in the application form via (Google Drive – One Drive – Dropbox) etc.
  7. If the photos qualify for the semi-final stage, the applicant will be requested to print them in high quality and good output, and the print photo should not be less than 50 x 35 cm and should not exceed 50 x 50 cm and must be framed in a 2 cm black flat glass frame
  8. Photos that include a self-portrait of the applicant or signs indicating his/her identity or includes any writing or signature of the photographer or any other marks will not be accepted. The submitted artwork must not have been previously displayed or participated in any local or international exhibitions or competitions or virtual exhibitions or received any other awards or presented to any judging committees
