Eligibility and Guidelines

Applications for the first round of the Farouk Hosny Foundation Prize for Art need to be submitted no later than 1 November 2019 by registering and submitting the following data through the application form available on the Foundation’s website as of October 1, 2019.

Eligibility, guidelines and requirements for the first round of the Farouk Hosny Foundation Prize for Art for 2020

  1. The applicant must be an Egyptian national
  2. The age of the applicant is between 18-35 years when applying
  3. The artwork should be original and produced by the applicant and the applicant owns all its intellectual rights
  4. The art work should be a painting only colors (acrylic – oil – multimedia)
  5. The art work is produced within the last two years (maximum as of 2017)
  6. No other prizes have been won or awarded for the nominated art work
  7. The applicant may only participate with one art work only
  8. Any dimension of the art work must not exceed 120 cm including the outer frame
  9. The art work image uploaded in the application form should be of high quality, clear and suitable for review and publication
  10. The image of the art work uploaded in the application form must be in JPEG or JPG format and should be of high quality and accuracy. The image size should not be less than 5 MB and not more than 10 MB, provided that the longest dimension of the image is not less than 2000 pixels and the quality is not less than 300 dpi
  11. Registration in the competition is by filling the application form available on the Foundation’s website as of October 1, 2019
  12. All applications must be sent via the website application form. No other application methods will be considered
  13. The deadline for submitting applications for the competition, the data and image of the art work is 1 November 2019
  14. The prize of the competition is fifty thousand Egyptian pounds and the award of the winner and certificates of appreciation for the finalists
  15. The finalists will be contacted and notified by December 15, 2019
  16. Contestants who have reached the final stage must submit the original art work before December 25, 2019
  17. The winner of the prize will be announced and the certificates will be handed to the finalists on 21 January 2020
  18. The winning art work and the finalists art works will be presented at a group art exhibition that will open on 21 January 2020 and will run until 31 January 2020
  19. Agreeing to submitting the nominated art work for viewing and display in the group art exhibition if you are notified as a finalist as per the competition schedule and guidelines
  20. Agreeing to apply the Terms, Rules and Conditions of the competition
